I am amazed at the knock on effect my new job has had on several other factors of my life. I was in my previous job for 4 years. In Government, that is a fair veteran!!! I knew the job inside out, yet I still couldn't get it right because indifference lead to forgetfulness which lead to poor performance, which lead to constantly getting pulled aside and told, "You're not very good at this....are you?" Being told that on a regular enough basis (ok, it wasn't like it was monthly or anything, but regular enough) tends to make one feel a bit, well, useless.
In 1 week and 3 days, I have been given more responsibility, more trust and learned more functions than I did in 4 years at my previous job! In addition to this, I have noticed, without even trying, I am eating better, walking taller, working harder at the gym and taking more pride in everything I do!!! I have gone from "Can't be arsed!" to "Hell yeah! Hand me that arse!!!!" (hmmm, possibly a bit wrong sounding, but for illustrative purposes, it can stay). It is good. It feels right.
I am a realist in acknowledging that eventually, this job will give me the irrits and I will want to move on, but it has done so much for me in just a week!!! Change! Change is good!!!

Well sounds like things are fantastic. I am so glad that you are enjoying the new job. It just goes to show how feeling some kind of worth can make a big difference to our entire life. Hope it all continues for you.
