People PLEASE!

Working in the city full time now, I get to do a lot of people watching, particularly walking to and from the train station through the mall. I have decided that it is my job to write a list of rules and regulations for city walking. Please observe these rules when walking in the city....particularly if I am around, because I will be issuing on the spot fines for non-compliance:

Between the hours of about 7:30 - 9:30am, people are walking to work. They probably don't want to go, but it is probably not going to make their life easier if they are running late. Look lively and walk briskly.

Between 4 - 6pm, people are leaving the city for the day. They want to get on the train/tram/bus or to their car and get home. Again, look lively and get the hell out the way!

Between 12 - 2pm, people are at lunch. They don't have a lot of time to do a stack of stuff that they otherwise don't have time to do. Get out the way! They don't have all day!

When it rains, if you have an umberella DO NOT under any circumstances walk under a covered walkway! You have an umbrella!!!! You are covered. Undercover walkways are for people who forgot their brolly....or who lost it. or who had it stolen, or who just don't have one!

In relation to the last point, rain is simply water falling from the sky, which really, is a good thing. Don't go a little crazy when it starts to happen. Just go with it. It is helping the farmers!

And finally, I've said it before, I'll say it again. Public transport is PUBLIC. The seat next to you is not your's to put your bag on. It is for another person who has paid for a ticket to sit in. Don't give them a death stare when they sit there (this is not technically related to 'walking through the city' but I feel it is important, so please observe!).

Sounds to me like you're suffering from what is commonly known as "Gawler Place" syndrome.
